Autumn 2 – 2021

Potions

This half term, in year 4, we will be learning all about ‘Changes of State’. We will be looking at Solids, Liquids and Gases and how changes to matter and state impact the ‘Water Cycle’. In writing this half term we will be writing and performing our very own potions spells, writing instructions and writing a letter. In Maths, we will be developing our addition and subtraction skills using column methods before moving onto perimeter and length and then onto multiplication and division.

As part of our Potions focus we will be designing and making bath bombs to present to the Dragons in our Dragon’s Den Assembly. Fingers crossed they will invest in our product.

Fairtrade and sustainability will be our focus in Geography where we will look at how goods are exports and imported around the world. We will look at how Fairtrade works and all those involved in getting the product to the customer.

In PSHE and RE we will be celebrating differences looking at temptations, right and wrong.

Autumn 1 – 2021

This half term we are recapping Ancient Egypt and we will be learning all about Roman Britain. We will be exploring artefacts and art from the different periods in history.
In our reading lessons, we are reading Ra the Cat Detective and we will be reading Iliona: diary of a slave. In writing, we are writing a Mystery Story set in Ancient Egypt and we will be writing our very own diary as a Roman.  In maths, we are focusing on place value on numbers upto 10,000.

Our teachers have planned some exciting events to help us with our learning.
